Cover the Uninsured
This Web site contains information on covering uninsured Americans and the reauthorization of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). The Senate bill contains language that calls for parity in SCHIP between mental and physical health.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
Includes discussion of issues related to primary care, practice standards, health insurance for children and youth, health equity issues (a.k.a. health disparities), and others.

Bright Futures
This contains information on the “medical home” for providers, families, children and youth, and provides information on AAP-sponsored medical home initiatives.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): Youth Risk Behavioral Surveillance System (YRBS)
For 30 years the CDC has conducted yearly confidential surveys of high school-aged students on risk-taking behavior, such as substance abuse (which includes tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drugs), HIV/AIDS, other sexually transmitted diseases, and risky sexual behaviors. This Web site provides information about the survey and its findings.

The Kaiser Commission on Medicaid and the Uninsured

The Kaiser Family Foundation
A sister agency to the Kaiser Commission, it includes Medicaid, but also includes a wider range of topics, including minority health issues and disparities, quality of care, HIV/AIDS, and women’s health issues.
