The Technical Assistance Partnership for Child and Family Mental Health (TA Partnership) will be hosting a Systems of Care Youth Coordinator Meeting on January 22–23 in Washington, D.C. This meeting is intended for members of systems of care who are responsible for:

  • Educating youth consumers, family members and adult  providers on the importance of authentic youth voice in individual treatment planning, service delivery, policy development and governance;
  • Supporting youth in developing and coordinating youth leadership training opportunities, including conferences;
  • Coordinating and developing supports for youth groups and youth service (i.e., peer mentors or youth advisors); and,
  • Coordinating efforts to ensure that youth voice impacts the services and supports offered to youth and that concerns of youth are addressed within the service system.

This meeting will provide opportunities to network and share strategies to effectively cultivate and sustain youth involvement in systems of care locally and nationally. The meeting will include:

  • Trainings on youth engagement strategies;
  • Strategic planning sessions related to sustaining youth involvement; professional development of youth and youth involvement coordinators;
  • Resource and tip sharing sessions; and
  • Developing the youth coordinator role.

It is important to note that participation in this meeting will count towards your cooperative agreement conference requirements.
